BACKGROUND

In 2023, a major transformation was well underway within Australian financial advice to becoming a recognised profession. Never had it been more centred around the needs and circumstances of the client.  For the first time, we saw a new cohort of professionals emerging with mandatory qualifications and professional obligations like in the legal and accounting professions.

Yet such changes had also brought about a significant reduction in the number of registered financial advisers, stabilising to approximately 15,500 in 2023[1] (down from the peak of approx. 26,500 in 2019[2]). This drastic reduction has created issues of supply and access to high quality professional advice, where the demand has never been greater. And that is how Falcon was created.

To facilitate the emergence of financial advice as a trusted profession in Australia.

THE BIRTH OF FALCON

In the Northern Beaches of Sydney, founding partner Tom Moloney recognised this demand to access high quality and ethical advice with limited available options.

With existing firms at capacity, or only targeting limited segments of clients, comprehensive financial advice was becoming harder to access and out of reach for many. Tom determined to change that by establishing a holistic comprehensive advice practice that caters to a wide range of individuals and families by providing a generalist approach to advice in putting their interests first.

Tom wanted to achieve this by providing tailored financial advice packages to suit individual circumstances and needs through a fair and consistent approach to pricing. Fundamentally, clients deserve to see value for money, understand the advice they receive and are comfortable the advice is in their best interests.
